Kilims

Kilims are said to have been around since prehistoric times, as a replacement for animal skins as rugs and floor coverings. Kilims are set apart from pile rugs in that they have a very simple and unique flatweave developed thousands of years ago. Over time, Kilims have become more colorful, intricate, and decorative while remaining simple and light to carry. Kilims are often simple in color and pattern, but they also have great motifs and sometimes tell entire stories of history and culture because they have origins from all around the world.
